Reach is the UK’s largest commercial, national and regional news publisher with 120+ print and online brands.

Following the 2018 acquisition of Northern & Shell’s publishing assets, we changed our name from Trinity Mirror to Reach. This acquisition brought the Express and Star into our national newspaper stable, alongside the Mirror and Record. As part of the same deal we also purchased the OK! and New national magazine brands.

In addition to our national titles, we publish 109 regional news brands, including daily titles such as the Liverpool Echo, South Wales Evening Post, Newcastle Chronicle, and Plymouth Herald. We also publish 79 paid-for weekly titles across the country. Over the last 12 years, we have expanded our regional Sunday portfolio to five titles with the launch of new Sunday regionals in Liverpool and Manchester.

Standalones Publication Update

Since their launch in 2022, Reach has successfully published premium-priced newsprint and glossy standalones to tap into niche and specialist markets. These publications cover a range of topics, including various sports events and significant anniversaries e.g. the 40th anniversary of the Falklands War. We have maintained a steady rate of growth across the number of standalones published, copies sold, revenue generated, and topics covered since their inception.   Highlights for 2025 included publications dedicated to Newcastle United lifting the Carabao Cup, Everton leaving Goodison, the VE Day 80th anniversary, and Liverpool's Premier League win. We also successfully launched Blood Red, a monthly Liverpool FC publication, which is now available at retail alongside our other monthly title, Women's Football News. Looking ahead to 2026, we have exciting plans, with the World Cup presenting a significant opportunity. You can also expect standalones covering numerous subjects, including Rugby Union, American Football, Formula 1, Film, Music, Boxing, and Gardening. Additionally, you can rely on Reach to provide essential commemorative titles whenever a significant event occurs in the world of sport.
